Swimmm

Met up with joseph, yongxiang, jk and zixian today for a swim. Vincent wanted to join us but he woke up late, so we left without him.

We decided not to go to the gym because the weather was too good for tanning. All of us soon changed into our swimming attires, and we found out that zixian is indeed as pale as paper. Zx, yx and jk headed to the pool after that leaving me and joseph behind to suntan. Aside from the times when the clouds blocked the sun, we had a great time sun tanning while listening to music from my phone as it was quite windy even though the sunlight was strong.

After about 30 minutes, we joined the others in the pool... and that was when my 1 day 'learn how to swim' crash course started.

Certified instructor/lifeguard Jojo led me to the pool and asked me to start blowing bubbles. Then he taught me how to move the legs and arms. I had some problems with the leg movements in the beginning but with the encouragement and skillful teachings of joseph, i managed to grasp the basics OF basics of swimming. Soon, joseph passed me his trusty blue mini float and asked me to swim in the deeper regions of the swimming pool. It was difficult for me to breath while swimming even though i was determined to learn.

After some rigorous training, i still couldn't swim... and zixian was so happy because he finally can beat me in ONE aspect of life. Please kindly not forget about your half a pull-up while you laugh at me, haha, and next week is napfa test, haha again.

Later on, all of us moved to the kids pool and joseph showed us some water kung fu. He also taught us how to execute the move by harnessing our inner strength a.k.a 内功 then use our hands to skim across the water and then push out. Super painful and funny.

Showered after that and then walked back to causeway point to meet up with vincent for lunch. We headed to macdonalds and then joseph started discussing about his 'pet'. His pet's adventures always so interesting and funny for everybody.

Joseph, vincent and jk went off early for their cca thing while yongxiang accompanied me to shop for gloves and pencil box. Apparentlly, the nike gloves look like they tear easily for the $20 and $30 ones so i decided not to buy them and i can't find a decent pencil case in either causeway point or bukit panjang plaza. Damn... i think i have to stick with my plastic bag for a long time.

Second draft of p.i on monday and physics spa on wednesday... plus tons of common test the week after next, i shall try to get into a studying mood now.

WGU is life!

I could still remember, me and junhao standing beside the ab-rotation machine, when we saw the 2 guys wearing that WGU shirt, talking to one another while lifting weights. Their sleeves were almost splitting every time they raised their hands. Their humongous arms almost the size of our faces. They were terrifying... so fit even '369' gang members will run home and cry to their mothers.

The bold words 'WOODLANDS GYM UNDERGROUND' printed on the back of their shirts inspired us to work even harder to get into the club. Upon that day, our passion to become fitter grew stronger every gym session.

The woodlands gym once existed inside the woodlands stadium, under the seats of the audiences, and it was a place where gym enthusiasts from all over woodlands gather to work out. After several years, they decided to close down the gym and build a new one next to the swimming pool. The legends then decided to form a private association before the closing down of the underground gym, which is also known as 'WGU: Woodlands Underground Gym' as of today.

Many of the legends have left their passion for gym-ing after the demolition of the old gym, but there are some who still pay a visit to the new gym beside the swimming pool. It is a rare sight to see people wearing the WGU shirt nowadays inside the gym, as it is occupied by youths of the new generation who visit the place to keep fit.

WGU members thought that the once, strong drive for gym-ing in woodlands must have been abandoned when the old gym was demolished... but they were wrong.

Only yesterday, me, junhao and yongxiang went through the narrow walkway inside the stadium to find ourselves in front of the old gym's door. We could almost hear the sounds of dumb-bells clinking each other when we opened the door.
